The sound of 2000F & JKamata is of both the past, present and future. Fusing jazz, dubstep, boogie funk, ghetto bass, uk funky, and deep house of the 70's, 80s, and onwards with a bass-heavy, yet soulful twist, the duo has with just a few releases made a huge impact internationally.
RAW's own Tim Driver - member of Denmark's bass moghuls OHOI! Soundsystem and Kraken Recordings - has made us a perfect, action-packed mix of Drum'n'Bass. It is part of his own series and comes highly recommended for superb mixes and for that RAW D'n'B feel, which you can experience on August 7. So run this rudeboy/rudegirl...
Albert started making HipHop beats while he was still living with the old folks back in 1995. He was turned on to 4/4 around 2001, and began producing tracks. In 2006, he was booked for his first gig at Nadsat in Copenhagen. Since then, he's DJed all over town, including a residency at Dunkel.
Kristobal started producing Jungle and Drum’n’Bass in his early teens. Just after the millennium he got in to DJ’ing 2step and UK Garage and went on to co-found the award winning DJ/producer/promoter crew OHOI! Since 2002, Kristobal and OHOI! have organized more than a hundred successful club-nights. Among these are the annual mighty RAW raves.
Inspektor, aka Inspectah Scratzh, aka Rasmus Jensen got interested in house music in 1986 and got his first turntables shortly thereafter.
But it wasn't until 1995, after having moved to Copenhagen, that he started dj'ing seriously. Since then, he has gained a solid recognition in the clubbing community as one of the most skilled rave turntablists, especially because of his ghetto tech period around 1999-2001 where he hosted a number of ghetto tech/booty bass events in Copenhagen and sported the rare skill of mixing 100 tracks in an hour.
Even though he has played at virtually every possible venue in Denmark, to this day he is still a well kept secret to the general public. A shy personality and no record releases has kept the inspector an underground phenomenon. Now enjoy the Inspektor's beautiful contribution to The RAW Tapes series!

Behind Sousa/Schmidt lie the combined forces of David Sousa and Mads Schmidt. This Israeli/Danish duo - and long time friends - popped up on the radar only 18 months ago, but have already played at all the finest venues the Danish capital has to offer, plus some gigs abroad in Spain and the Faroe Islands.
For more than a year now they have been setting the bar high, as residents at Copenhagen’s biggest and most successful Thursdays club, Villains Club, at Rust.
Although their style is not easily put down in words, it has best been described as “vagina-friendly house and techno” – a sound which shines through this particular contribution to the RAW Tapes.

"Dåtsj Drop Læjser Tape": LORTEHÆNDERNE / Poo Tang Clan's tribute to car-siren music and drop mixing!
"We've chosen some of the most pumping and screeching tunes we got -some might find them incredibly annoying, we find them straight banging' !! Pay good attention to Welkum Terug (Alvaro Mix) which is some sleazy dutch pop / hip hop / house track by Partysquad, which alvaro mixes with straight dutch synth stagger dagger style!! It's quite funny! Of course we got some hip hop stuff in it too - Wiseguys with Oh La La - just a funny classic. AND - we had to put BLAU! in there too. Blau has become our all time favorite track and will probably be in the end of all our mixtapes from now on. So if you don't like the tune.. too bad :)
Our overall description of this mix is: it's the shit !" ... is what Lortehænderne wrote about this mix they made for The RAW Tapes series. Nuff said. May we add: one of them, Eloq, is opening this year's RAW. Dayum hot dem kids!
Revealomatic has been spinning vinyls since 1998, going through crates and crates of hip-hop, soul, funk, reggae, afro, balkan, dancehall and dub, ending up with a lot of dubstep, steppers and UK garage.
He is currently running and residing at the ”SKANK” bi-weekly dubstep night at Rust in Copenhagen, which in April celebrated its 1-year anniversary at the legendary nightclub - and has recently spawned a monthly twin night at the Amager venue Beta Club, called ”2300 SKANK”. Through the SKANK nights he has brought big stars to the danish bass audience, such as Cotti, Cluekid & Kromestar, as well as presenting raw dj-talent from the Copenhagen underground.
These last years the skilled and hardworking selector has been tearing up dancefloors - in 2009 playing a total of 120 live shows all around Denmark, as well as Bruxelles & Barcelona. In addition to this he is hosting the first Danish dubstep radioshow, now airing from UK at the mighty SUB.FM station every other wednesday 18-20 GMT. In 2008 he got nominated for a Danish Dj Award as "urban deejay of the year".

Born and raised in festival city Roskilde, Jesper Frydenlund was among the first to bring raves and the clubbing-wave outside the Danish capital in the early 90’s.
Jesper's DJ-career took off in the new millenium as both a national radio regular and guest DJ of clubbing events all over Denmark.
As editor of the website Housemusik.dk he was at the buzzing hub of Danish clubbing culture for years, but has now been retired from the greasy dancefloors for a couple of years.
Now, in usual fondness of classic electronic music Jesper returns with "Homage Fromage": a tribute to one of the biggest waves ever to roll through the world of dancemusic. Although often frowned upon these days, there's no denying the impact that the French Revolution had on modern music.
This mix celebrates some of the artists of this filtered, looping, garlic-infused phenomenon - and the ones who inspired them before. Have fun!

Beastie Respond is the production alias of Tobias Hjørnet. He first encountered Drum’n’Bass through the Drum&BassArena podcasts, which he randomly stumbled upon in the iTunes Store. Listening to a Renegade Hardware showcase mix got him hooked on the raw and energetic music.
The first step for many is to start DJing and then turn to production but it was the other way around for Tobias, who started off as a producer. With a background as a drummer in a Reggae and Ska band and a great interest in music production this was a natural progression for him. When Tobias went behind the decks it was with a mission to push the deeper side of Drum’n’Bass, where tempo is the key defining factor.
Beastie Respond is still up-and-coming as a DJ in the Copenhagen but with a residency at the hotspot Dunkel Bar you will surely hear more from him and his sound in the future. His club night will kick off in July with a Critical Music label night featuring Kasra and Sabre.
Big up a man like Beastie Respond for providing us with The RAW Tapes #07.
JB grew up in the 90s to the tones of Hip Hop and G-Funk, became a huge Prodigy fan at age 10 and was acquainted with Dubstep in 2006 at the age of 17.
That experience really changed the life of a little punk who was up to no good at that time in his life. ‘You must understand that this music really means a lot to me; it’s a more meaningful and rewarding choice of life than what I originally came from’, the young buck explains. ‘As soon as I had scratched together enough money, I went straight out and bought a mixer, turntables and a bunch of proper kick-in-the-ass vinyls. Then I just practiced, practiced and practiced’.
All that practice has sure paid off. JB is tipped by key players on the scene as a future Dubstep don. Among those players was Revealomatic. ‘He heard me play a set one day, and was quite impressed. Particularly the tightness of my mixing’, JB tells us. ‘Revealomatic then gave me a spot on the US Dubstep netradio Dubterrain, which I did once a week for just over a year until last November when I switched to the highly esteemed sub.fm’.
The number and scope of gigs have also increased steadily over the years, and JB has already experienced deejaying alongside big international acts, in different cities across Denmark as well as in Sweden. His gigs include a residency at the Copenhagen club SKANK. ‘And I'm particularly very proud to have played at a OHOI! event, JB adds.
What’s next? JB tell us that he’s been given access to a proper vinyl record cutter in a studio in Copenhagen. ‘I’ve spent at a lot of time alone with that machine!’. JB has become a dubplate pusher in the sprawling Danish dubstep underground.
Style? ‘It’s got to be tight’, is JB’s first response. ‘There has to be tonal affinity within the mix, and I’m quite a perfectionist when it comes to juggling and chopping the lows, mids and highs. That gives the mix my personal imprint, if you could call it that’.
We think that you can definitely call it that. Give it up for one of Denmark’s best new DJs around.
Klaus B has been a household name within the Danish electronic scene since the mid-90's, which has brought him to perform all over Copenhagen and various spots around Denmark as well as Sweden and Norway.
Highly respected for his fierce mixing style and ability to blend with ease various styles that range over a broad spectrum of musical genres. Always with a keen eye on and understanding of the dancefloor ensures a thrilling experience with Klaus B at the wheels.
This has led to musical endeavours and releases on Wallshaker Records from Detroit with Aaron-Carl and Steen Thøttrup plus AuditoryDesigns with Lars Bjarno of Djuma Soundsystem using the Ben Horn moniker for this particular release.
Klaus B is furthermore the co-owner and co-founder of the most well known outlet for electronic music in Denmark HIFLY, which saw the light of day back in 2006. Klaus B will also be performing at this year’s RAW on ARENA 6: TECHNO - in a very special combo we will announce later.
His last mixtape created a massive wave of love on the scene, so we’ve really looked forward to this one – truly international calibre! So give it up for Klaus The Boss.
Copyflex aka. Åsmund Boye Kverneland hails from Stavanger, the oil capital of Norway. In 1997 he decided to pack a truckload of music gear and move to Copenhagen. He worked as a stockbroker for 2 years, then for a local financial- scandals celebrity, Klaus Riskjær, all the while slowly getting a foothold on the city's music scene.
In 2000, Copyflex made his first appearances on the music scene as a live musician, playing homemade machines, broken amps, feedbackloops and synths. He became a leading figure of the Copenhagen experimental and noise music scene. In 2001, he met the Danish godfather of Techno, Bjørn Svin, who became a main collaborator and turned him on to rhythmical music. While touring Europe in 2002-04 they released several tracks under different pseudonyms such as Contradition Boys, Ezo&Flex and Europussy.
Because his live gear broke down one hour before a live set in 2005, Copyflex tried spinning records, which both he and the crowd loved - and Copyflex is still doing exactly that. Due to his capacity to combine party music (Electro, Baile Funk, Kuduro, Fidget House, etc) with creative experiments, homemade edits and mashups, Copyflex is one of the most popular DJs in Copenhagen. His popularity derives partly from a lively stage appearance with Mpc1000 samplers, flaming hairspray, confetti bombs or champagne fountains - all carefully selected for the right occasion.
In addition to his solo performances, Copyflex is part of a number of music partnerships such as the slow-rave duo Copyfokking (with Jens Fokking Skovgaard); he has also joined the talented dancer & composer Maia Hauser in making the filmic out-there duo Copyhauser; Copyflex is part of the Cumbia crew Copa Doble Systema; and recently, Copyflex, Copyfokking and Copyhauser have entered onboard the Copenhagen/NYC-based collective and label Art Rebels.
This fourth part of The RAW Tapes series is a tour de force in Tropical Bass from the man Copyflex. Enjoy!

Making a name for himself as the youngest Deep House don in the country, Mads Jensen a.k.a Massimo has proven himself one of the most stable pillars of the Danish underground - being the top choice for the warm-up for the last few years running.
Before he started dj'ing a promising basketball carreer along with a college scholarship was cut short by a severe leg injury, but the discipline and hard work of pro sports is evident in the way Massimo works - always being a part of as many projects as possible.
Together with fellow Copenhagen dj /producer Hankat and best friend Rogers Van Hooft, Massimo has been responsible for putting Wednesday back in the Copenhagen club calender - over the last year and a half the dUb Wednesdays have been pumping and is not showing any signs of slowing down any time soon.
Now after 5 years of hard work Massimo was named 'DJ Of The Year' at the 2010 Club Awards and has revealed a lot of the projects he has been working on lately, the biggest of which is the launch of his own label StudieStraße Records that focuses on Copenhagen underground talent such as Hankat, Jonas Hahn & himself.
This mix is a serious deep groove injection, exclusively showcasing a lot of upcoming stuff on StudieStraße and is the premiere of the awaited collabo between Massimo & Hankat - Moxy Street.
After rocking the afterhours at RAW 2008 and nailing the warmup at RAW 2009 - Massimo was the obvious choice for the third installment in the series.
It all started at Christianshavn back in 1994 at a local youth club party, when Thomas Nielsen realized he had to become DJ Breakfast. The dream materialized the following year, and he quickly got involved with the scene, picking up a slot on one of Copenhagen's few pirate radio stations at the time, Christiania Radio - Junglefever FM. Soon DJing at the Jungle Fever parties as well, Breakfast was on his way to set his mark on Danish Drum and Bass.
Unfortunately, Breakfast had to leave it all behind in 1997 due to personal reasons and it would take nearly ten years before he re-appeared. Like a decade before, it was a DnB party that would re-ignite the good ol' spark. Now 10 years older and more determined, Breakfast is back to keep Drum & Bass on the map in Denmark.
We proudly present the first in a series of mixtapes by Denmark's best DJs: The RAW Tapes.
The RAW Tapes #01: Patrick Bateman.
Already a household name when the Danish club scene exploded in the late nineties, Kenneth Broxgaard aka. DJ Patrick Bateman has been a key party player for almost two decades. He’s a prime son of a Danish techno/house scene that just keeps getting better and better. He knows all the artistic effects down to the last beat, from vicious minimalism over luscious deep tech-house.
