Some people know him as Kevin King, some as Lemon D but after taking two years out of the limelight to redefine his path and direction, the man is back and ready to kick off a whole new chapter. Shedding the old pseudonym altogether Kevin King, now known as K-AZE (after his two K initials) is ready to rule once again with an all-new sound that’s been honed to perfection in the depths of the infamous Valve studios.
A truly multi-facted artist, K-AZE has been collaborating with some very special guest vocalists for some of his most accomplished work yet. All the while working with one of the godfathers of the dubstep scene, N-Type, under the collective artist name, The Illtronik. N-Type is a major figure on the global Dubstep scene, a multi-award winning DJ and producer, owner of Wheel & Deal Records, co-owner of Sin City Records and DJ on the world’s number one underground radio station, Rinse FM.
Now, with two albums worth of brand new material ready to drop on Valve, it’s time to start unleashing The Illtronik it to the world.
“It’s a hybrid of hip-hop and grime, dubstep, Jungle, R&B, Indie, House, Ska…it’s all in there and more!” K-AZE
Having also been a visual artist and designer for many years, K-AZE has also been producing orginal artworks to be included with the Illtronik album; some actually based on tracks from the LP. What’s more there will be a two day exhibition of his work at a gallery in London to coincide with the album launch and also the arrival of a very limited Valve Sound System 10 year anniversary book. Not only all this but K-AZE is also moving into music video production and short film direction with several projects due later in the year. Expect all the excitement to start after the summer months.
As a pre-cursor watch out when K-AZE of The Illtronik presents a mixtape/album, available as a free download in August; a showcase of things to come with guests including other acts that will also perform at RAW: Scru Fizza (the hottest new talent currently making huge waves in the UK grime and hip hop scenes), Roxxan (formidable rapper now signed to Universal) ... and many more.
Give it up for pioneers of Bass Music trailblazing into new horizons at RAW 2011! And now watch this little documentary on the legendary Valve Sound System - while remembering that these guys are going to stack three massive trucks and drive this crazy-ass sound system all the way to Denmark just for the sake of RAW!
