CONFIRMED FOR RAW 2010: RUNE RK

Rune RK started his DJ career in 1993 and before releasing his first EP in 1995, he had spent years as a Funk band drummer and Hip Hop producer. However, it was with the 2002 Artificial Funk single ‘Together’ that people outside Denmark started taking notice of what is now the brightest star on the Danish house scene.

Rune’s next outing became one of the Ibiza 2003 season defining tracks: the haunting sax-n-sex-driven classic, “Calabria”. Even in 2010, the track is still topping charts, as the covers won’t seem to end. Rune’s own version "Enur – Calabria" also created mayhem across Europe in the summer of 2007 ending up with topping the American airplay chart in the beginning of 2008 and selling more than 800.000 singles in the U.S alone – thus being the most sold Eletronic / Dance track on Itunes in 2008. A new updated Rune RK version was released in 2008 and has already been adopted by The Swedish House Mafia and many more – and was one of the big hits of the 2008 Ibiza season.

Having won the Danish ‘Best Club DJ of the Year’ several years in a row, Rune is known for his unique blend of classics and new releases. His technique is beyond just playing the tracks. You’ll see him adding accapellas and special edits created for the occasion. Rune believes that it’s important to deliver a show, so there is a lot of action behind the decks.

And this is what you can certainly expect from him at this year’s RAW. But, we’ll also see another side of Rune. He’ll be teaming up with another Danish heavyweight on the decks, Klaus Boss, for a special one-off TECHNO back2back set on Arena 6: TECHNO - in addition to his classic mainroom banger set on Arena 1: HOUSE. That’s right, we're giving you double up on Rune RK this year.
