PRESENTING THE PRESENTERS: HEST/PONY

There's a wicked horse in town. And it sure has some prominent riders to show off when it trots through Copenhagen late at night.

The brain child behind Hest/Pony is Simon Olsson, a connoisseur/provocateur on the Danish clubbing scene who has been active for a couple of years, but really nailed it with a series of hugely successful parties at the in-tavern Dunkel since 2009.

With Hest/Pony, Simon (aka Psi-Mono) is engaged in a deconstruction of boundaries for the sprawling scene that some call Dubstep, setting free its horsepower on any field, whether adjacent or far-flung... as long as its not wobble and brostep, aight?

Among the many top-notch names who have padded the Hest/Pony we could mention Scuba (Hotflush), Peverelist (Punch Drunk), Ramadanman (Hessle Audio), TRG (Tempa), Guido (Punch Drunk), Untold (Hemlock), Sigha (Hotflush), Brackles and Shortstuff (Blunted Robots) and Deadboy (Numbers). The events have also seen several local heavyweights trying their hands at new styles and directions, making tiny Dunkel Bar a big place to be for those thirsty for something new.

This summer, the horse will do its trot and kick up some dirt on its very own arena - dedicated to (what some people call) UK Funky. Then again, we know this horse well enough to say that it rarely moves as expected. So, you can be pretty sure that the arena line-up will not just serve up your standard cup of Funky. In the world of Hest/Pony, boundaries are tentative, the pen walls have been kicked down and the field is open.
